Welcome
to the special Parent Resources section of our website
designed just for you!
We know you
work hard to give your children opportunities for higher
education and careers that will provide for a bright
future. However, parents are often hampered by busy
schedules and a real lack of knowledge about the many
options available for post secondary education. High school
counselors carry heavy loads and spend much of their time
dealing with social problems, leaving little time for career
or educational counseling. Higher education gets more and
more competitive and expensive each year. Many of the
available doors to higher education are never approached,
much less opened.
Since you have
come to our website, we know you and your child are
considering a military education, and perhaps a career. You have come
to the right place.
The Olympic
Institute has an innovative process to help motivate,
prepare, qualify and assist individuals in acquiring
scholarships to military junior colleges and prep schools.
We believe the Institute's counseling philosophies and
practices set us apart from other education counselors.
Our success rate would seem to bear this out.
Over the
past nine years, the Olympic Institute's regional program
has had a 100% success rate. To date 45 young men and women
have completed our programs and received one or more
appointments or scholarships. This includes 36 academy
appointments, 21 ROTC scholarships, 26 military junior
college admissions, and 2 state maritime academy admissions,
for a total of 85 successes. The total fair market
value of the education for these 45 clients is estimated at $9,600,000.
The Olympic
Institute has had incredible success, and we are now
offering our services to young men and women across the
nation. So if you are worried that your children are not
listening to you and are not doing what they need to do in
order to get a scholarship to a service academy, ROTC
program, or military prep school, we offer help.
An old axiom
states that "No man is a prophet in his own land." This
means that people sometimes need to hear advice from an
outside source before it has real meaning to them. Parental
advice may fall on deaf ears, but let the neighbor (or a
counselor) tell them the same thing, and it all makes
perfect sense.
Many parents
believe that the hiring of an education counselor
is going to be very expensive. We offer "family friendly"
budget plans. Our one-time fee (payable over the first 12
months of the contract) for service currently averages
$3,250, which is just a fraction of what many charge (other
consultant fees are between $5,000 to $34,000). This fee
provides a solid "return on investment" for a lifetime
commitment of service. In the case of a federal service
academy, the value of that four year program alone is
estimated at over $350,000. Over a lifetime, the value to
your child, family and country is really priceless.
Of course,
we know that working with larger numbers of youth
nationally, we are not going to maintain a 100% success rate
in the first go around. We cannot guarantee that, but we do
guarantee that we will continue to work with each student to
reapply, or seek other opportunities.
Before you
go off to explore this special parents resource section
more, I would like to highlight another issue.
We believe
that kids have enough stress in their lives without
consultants and parents adding to it unnecessarily. The
Olympic Institute promotes academic excellence, and
encourages our clients to be community service oriented, and
willing to be part of something bigger than themselves. We
know what is critical to successful application to the
academies, ROTC programs, etc., and we focus on only the
positive and essential activities that will fill in the
blanks on the resumes and applications, and provide valuable
content for letters of recommendation.
We would
like to be your family's education resource. Please review
the other information available in this section, and the
rest of the Institute's website.
